This video strings some clips together of the current situation in Europe concerning the massive influx of “refugees,” and German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s and the EU Parliament’s role in it all. It’s interspersed with a few clips from some classic comedy movies that mock Merkel and the EU Parliament in Brussels. It’s not overdone, though. It’s actually spot on, in my opinion.
There is one clip (around the 14:45 min. mark) in the video that is particularly revealing. It shows Angela Merkel at an event somewhere in Germany, I assume. She appears on stage with a group of people that I also assume are German officials of some capacity. The crowd is singing. One of the men appearing with Merkel on stage starts to wave a German flag. Chancellor Merkel (the leader of Germany) grabs the flag from his hand, like some stern mother (i.e. “Mutti” auf Deutsch) angry with her unruly child. She marches to the edge of the stage and sets the flag down. The man looks baffled and shocked, but tries to put on a “happy face.” Merkel then walks back to the center of the stage and glares at him with a dour expression, simultaneously shaking her head disapprovingly.
Think about that for a moment. Angela Merkel is apparently offended by her own nation’s flag. For me, the message is clear: Angela Merkel will not tolerate any overt displays of patriotism or national pride by any member of her government. They’re all “Europeans” now—citizens of a European federation. Such “nativist” displays cannot be tolerated. To Merkel, and those like her, national sovereignty is a thing of the past, and must be purged from the minds of her government and its citizens.
With the rise of movements like PEGIDA in Europe—a German acronym that stands for “Patriotische Europäer Gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes” (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West)—the collectivist elements within the European Union have seen fit to turn Germany, and other respective EU member states, into what has been described as an “open-air psychiatric hospital” (see here and here). Any groups that organize within the EU sphere of influence in opposition to current EU immigration policies are instantly labeled “fascist,” “far-right,” “xenophobic” and “racist” by the far-left. Never mind the fact that many Europeans have legitimate concerns and fears over the tidal wave of migrants and “refugees” pouring into western Europe, and the accompanying spike in crime and depletion of resources that comes with it.
For example, the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (German: Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend) has started an advertising campaign aimed at promoting multiculturalism. An example can be seen below (translation follows).
GERMANY, STAY STRONG!
With humanity versus your darker side.
Against hate and rabble-rousing propaganda (Gegen Hass und Hetze)
Without ifs and buts (Ohne Wenn und Aber)
SHOW YOUR TRUE FACE!*(Gesicht Zeigen!)
*alternative translation: “Show your true colors!”
When I read the German propaganda poster above, which ironically preaches against “hate and propaganda,” the first thing I think of is the old saying: “You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette.” Sure, there will be some “unfortunate incidents”—like terrorism, murder, rape, crime, etc. Sure, the European taxpayer will foot the bill for all of it. But … BE STRONG! You can do it, kiddo! You wouldn’t want to be labeled a “xenophobe” or “racist,” now would you? Besides,”change” ain’t easy, you know?
Once again, Westerners are being told that what they see isn’t really what they see. There is a rather Orwellian term for this sort of thing … Gaslighting:
The whole strategy behind the migrant invasion appears to be to dilute and dissipate the culture and traditions of European nations, especially western European countries. It is a rather diabolical, dialectical strategy of “divide and conquer.”
The EU was never about “peace”; it was about consolidating ever-more power over “the masses” of Europe via “political and economic integration.” Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky once described the EU as “the pale version of the Soviet Union.” Such power-centric unions throughout history have so often times been sold under the guise of “peace and prosperity.” The Romans promised “bread and circuses.” Lenin promised “peace, bread and land.” But, in the end, when all power is placed into the same hands, “the masses” only receive misery and oppression—tyranny and strife.
I do believe Britain would be wise to exit the European Union. It would be “prudent at this juncture.”
