“You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.”
This presentation by Bill Warner was originally titled “Islamic Attack on Chattanooga: Why It Happened and What to Do.” It was in response to the July 16th 2015 attack in Chattanooga, Tennessee, when a jihadist, Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, opened fire on two military installations, killing four Marines and one sailor.
Since much of what Dr. Warner covers in this presentation is just as applicable today, considering the terrorist attack on Wednesday in San Bernardino, California, that left 14 dead and 21 wounded, I just changed the name of the location in the title.
Dr. Bill Warner has been studying Islam for the past 43 years. Warner has written numerous books on the topic. He’s been hard at work speaking to countless audiences around the nation and the globe, and is also a frequent guest on various radio shows.
In our age of “political correctness,” taking a critical stance on Islam is considered heresy in many sectors of western society. Naturally, Dr. Warner is labeled “racist,” “bigot,” “Islamophobe,” “intolerant,” and so on. But it has not deterred him in his quest to educate people on the true doctrine of Islam.
The first response from many when confronted with a critical analysis of Islam is the often repeated retort, “But many Muslims are peaceful … not all Muslims are terrorists.” True enough. But if the goal is to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic doctrine, then the oft-heard sentiment is wholly irrelevant. Nick Short over at Politically Short sums it up this way:
… [S]ince adherents to sharia and a strict interpretation of Islam have sworn to destroy us, it is their doctrine that we are required to know. Whether that doctrine is judged by us or this administration to be accurate with “genuine” Islam is wholly irrelevant. If it can be demonstrated, which it has been, that the enemy that attacks and kills Americans and seeks to subvert our Constitution refers to and relies on the implementation of sharia to guide and justify his actions, then that is all that matters in terms of the enemy threat doctrine U.S. civilian and military leaders must thoroughly understand and orient upon for the purpose of defeating such foes.
It is estimated that there are some 1.5 billion Muslims in the world. How individual Muslims may interpret the Koran, or how they practice their religion, is of no real concern to me; nor is it of any paramount importance or concern to Dr. Bill Warner. The point is, How does Islam see me? What does Islam want to do with me? If you are a kafir (unbeliever), then you might have reason to be concerned as well.
Islam is no mere religion. It is a political and religious movement—a civilizational doctrine. In Islam, there is no separation between mosque and state. It is one and the same. Islam controls almost every aspect of one’s life—how to eat, how to brush your teeth, how to dress, how to make love, how to marry, etc. The Islamic doctrine determines what actions Muslims are required to take. Muslims are either following the doctrine, or not. Concepts like mercy and forgiveness are anathema to the doctrine. In Islam, it is either legal or illegal.
For the most part, when the subject of Islam is discussed in the public arena, we are often presented with a subjective analysis based upon the concerned individual’s interpretation of Islam. Warner refers to this as “official Islam” (i.e. the subjective interpretation of Islam by a myriad of so-called “experts”).
What is required, according to Dr. Warner, is a fact-based (i.e. objective) analysis of Islam. There are only two questions that matter: compliance with the commandants of Allah, and strict compliance with the teachings of Muhammad.
There are 91 verses in the Koran which describe Mohammed as the divine prototype—the “prophet of Allah.” He is considered a “perfect human being” whose life exemplifies the “perfect pattern of living” (Sunnah). If Mohammed said it, it is considered true. There is no need for interpretation. As a matter of fact, there are several Suras (verses) in the Koran expressly warning against reinterpretation of any kind (see Suras 6:114, 11:1, 12:1, 16:89, 27:1, 41:3 and 57:9). So, for so-called “Muslim reformers,” they run the risk of being branded “hypocrites” by the votaries of Islam if they attempt to reinterpret the Koran and the Sunnah in any manner, shape or form.
Quran 9:73 – “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.”
The doctrine of Islam is contained in a trilogy of texts: the Qu’ran, the Hadith (traditions and sayings of Mohammed) and the Sira (biography of Mohammed). If it is in the three books, it is Islam.
The Koran is missing the Five Pillars of Islam, which covers the religious practices of Muslims. According to Bill Warner, the “five pillars” cannot be the basis for Islam, for it does not contain enough material to do so. Furthermore, the religious practices of Muslims are of little interest or concern to Warner. As he says, “If Islam was just a religion, I’d be at home in my woodshop.”
Whether the Koran commands Muslims to pray three times a day, or the Hadith commands Muslims to pray five times a day, it is immaterial to Dr. Warner. It is political Islam that directly affects non-Muslims, not so much the religious component. As Warner points out, the kafir (pronounced kah-feer) are in the book. The bulk of Islamic doctrine is about the kafir.
So, just what does the Koran, Hadith and Sira have to say about the kafir? First, it is vitally important to understand the dualistic nature of Islamic doctrine and the “law of abrogation.” It is also helpful to understand a little history concerning the “career” of Mohammed, and the Koran itself.
The Koran is not assembled in chronological order like the Bible. Instead, it is organized by the length of the contained chapters. The Koran begins with a short prayer. And then subsequent chapters start with the longest text, and the Koran ends with the shortest.
There are really “two Korans” within the Koran (sometimes referred to as the Meccan and Medinan Korans). Mohammed began his ministry in Mecca. The “divine revelations” allegedly revealed to Mohammed by the angel Gabriel in a cave on Mount Hira are believed to be the “perfect word of Allah” by devout Muslims.
Mohammed’s early Meccan verses are considered rather tame in comparison to the later Medinan verses. There was absolutely no mention of “jihad” at this time. And Mohammed even praised the Jews in Mecca. It was not until the very end of his time in Mecca that Mohammed’s rhetoric started to take on a decidedly antisemitic tone. The Meccan verses are often described as the “peaceful verses.”
Early on, Mohammed was a rather unremarkable and nondescript figure in the city of Mecca. But when Mohammed left Mecca and traveled to the city of Medina (a journey known as the Hijra), there was a marked change in the tone of Mohammed’s rhetoric. While there was no mention of jihad in the Meccan verses, twenty-four percent of the text in the latter Koran (i.e. Medinan verses) concerns jihad. We are not talking about just a verse or two, as is commonly claimed. Nearly one-third of the trilogy is devoted to jihad—a significant portion, indeed. Jihad is a systemic doctrine within Islam. Period.
Additionally, while there was virtually no anti-Jewish sentiment in the early Koranic verses, the latter Koran contains a great deal of Jew-hatred, as does the Sira and the Hadith.
During the 13 years Mohammed spent preaching in Mecca, he only managed to garner around 150 followers. Mohammed then left Mecca, at the insistence of the Meccans, and went to Medina, where he became a politician and a jihadist. Mohammed spent the last ten years of his life in Medina. In the last nine years of his life, he averaged a jihad event every six weeks. By the time of Mohammed’s death in 632 A.D., the entire Arabian peninsula was under Muslim control. Where religion failed, politics and jihad had succeeded.
One of the confusing aspects of Islam, and one that is often exploited by Mohammedans to confuse those who are not knowledgeable of Islamic jurisprudence, is the dualism inherent in Mohammedanism. Muslim apologists are wont to quote the “peaceful verses” (i.e. Meccan verses) from the Koran, without mentioning the “law of abrogation”—meaning, if a Koranic verse contradicts another, the later verse always takes precedence over (abrogates) the earlier verse (nasikh vs. mansukh).
Since the Koran is not arranged in chronological order, it furthers adds to the confusion for the uninitiated—even for scholars. Even to this day, not all of the Islamic texts have been definitely and conclusively dated.
To further muddy up the waters, an abrogated verse does not mean it has been rendered untrue. Both the abrogated and the non-abrogated verses are true, hence the dualism. For many, this is a difficult concept. In the West, if two things contradict each other, one must be false. In Islam, both are true. This is similar to Hegel’s dialectic; or Marx and Engel’s interpretation of Hegelian philosophy, known as dialectical materialism—the notion of two opposing forces that appear diametrically opposed to one another are actually working in concert to bring about a predetermined outcome (synthesis). In a nutshell: the predetermined end justifies the means.
The Koran, Hadith and Sira contain numerous passages urging Muslims to fight against the unbeliever.
Qu’ran 9:29 — Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture – [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
The jizyah is a poll tax levied against the “people of the book” (i.e. Christians and Jews) who find themselves under Islamic rule. If they are allowed to live, Christians and Jews under Islamic rule are considered dhimmis (third-class citizens). This is known as dhimmitude, a status so severe that many either convert to Islam or flee.
Qu’ran 9:30 — The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of Allah “; and the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of Allah .” That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
Qu’ran 9:111 — Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.
Qur’an 9:123 — O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.
Qur’an 48:29 — Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves….
For Muslims, there is no guarantee of salvation, despite whatever good works they may have done in their lives. The only way to be guaranteed entry into Paradise is to be martyred fighting in jihad against the infidel. Mohammed states his own desire for martyrdom in the Hadith (Sahih al-Bukhari 2797):
… By Him in Whose Hands my life is! I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.
Under Obama, law enforcement has been given orders, via the Department of Justice (DoJ), to not allow, under any circumstances, Islamic scholars like Dr. Bill Warner to address any federal agencies. Only those approved by the government can advise federal agencies on matters relating to Islam.
During his presentation in Chattanooga, Bill Warner claims he was told by an F.B.I. trainer that files he had provided were the last to be purged, despite the fact that they were just statistical summaries. He was told his materials were considered “offensive to Islam” by the powers-that-be. Warner further stated that in Tennessee, under direct orders from Gov. Bill Haslam, experts like Dr. Bill Warner, Maj. Stephen Coughlin, John Guandolo, and others, were forbidden to speak to law enforcement in the state. Only Muslim Brotherhood front groups like the Muslim American Advisory Council are permitted to address law enforcement in Tennessee. Other Muslim Brotherhood front groups—Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Muslim-American Society (MAS), Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), Muslim Students Association (MSA), and the like—are routinely called on by the federal government, academia and the media to advise them on all matters relating to Islam.
In what can only be described as preposterous, if not insane, the Obama Administration and its apologists insist terrorist groups like Islamic State (aka ISIS, ISIL) have nothing to do with Islam, despite the fact that the self-appointed Caliph of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from the Islamic University of Baghdad. Even if one were to take the administration seriously—meaning, ISIS has nothing to do with Islam—it is obvious al-Baghdadi and his devotees believe it has everything to do with Islam. ISIS quotes regularly from the Koran and the Sunnah as justification for their mass slaughter of men, women and children. According to Dr. Warner, ISIS is one-hundred percent Islamic. Everything is justified by the trilogy.
But don’t just listen to Dr. Bill Warner, or me. Listen to the words of some ex-Muslims:
Is Islam a “religion of peace”? Does Islam truly practice “tolerance” and “acceptance” of other religions?
The greatest human rights violation today is the persecution of religious minorities. Christians are the largest numbers by far.
- Half of Iraqi Christians have fled rather than die. Countless numbers of their churches have been destroyed.
- Syrian towns that have Christian for 2,000 years are annihilated.
- The 1,300 year march of terror against the Copts continues in Egypt today.
- Christians jailed in Iran are tortured.
- Christians and Hindus are persecuted to near annihilation in Pakistan.
Also, Buddhists in Southeast Asia, Hindus in India and Jews in Israel are routinely assaulted and murdered.
At one time, Persia (now Iran) was half-Christian. Iraq once a had large Christian population. Formerly Christian nations and regions like Lebanon, Turkey, North Africa and Egypt are now almost exclusively dominated by Muslims. Mohammed was a neighbor to the pagans, Jews and Christians, and he annihilated them. Christians fled Arabia for Syria. After World War II, Lebanon flung open its doors to Muslim refugees. Now Lebanon is almost exclusively Muslim.
Islam means submission and domination—literally.
In closing, let it once again be stated unequivocally that this is not about equating all Muslims with violence and terrorism; but rather to objectively examine the doctrine of Islam and its 1,400 year history of butchery, savagery, conquest, slavery and oppression.
As Bill Warner has stated on several occasions, we cannot expect some Dirty Harry, or Billy Jack, or a knight in shining armor riding in on a white steed to save the day. That is pure fantasy, not reality. It requires organization. Like the adage goes, “The organized minority will beat out the disorganized mob every time.”
