Two police officers were shot on Thursday outside the Ferguson Police Headquarters during a protest, according to Reuters:
St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told reporters a 41-year-old officer from his department was struck in the shoulder and a 32-year-old officer from the nearby Webster Groves Police Department was hit in the face around midnight as the crowd was starting to break up.
He said he did not know the conditions of the officers, whom he did not identify, but said they were both conscious and being treated at a local hospital.
“These police officers were standing there and they were shot, just because they were police officers,” Belmar said.
From this point on I’m going to offer my opinion on this continuing War on the Police. I’ve never seen anything like it in my lifetime. There appears to be a pattern here. And I think I know where it’s coming from.
Despite several investigations clearing Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson of any racist motivations in the shooting of Michael Brown, including a grand jury probe, both the White House and the DOJ have continued to stoke the flames of racial animus in Ferguson, Missouri, and elsewhere.
Recently Attorney General Eric Holder threatened to dismantle the Ferguson Police Department. Holder’s threat is based on a so-called “scathing report” compiled by the DOJ alleging “a pattern of unconstitutional policing” by the Ferguson Police Department.
The Daily Mail reported:
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has threatened to dismantle Ferguson’s police department to force through reforms after a damning report found widespread racism in the force.
Holder told reporters that the Justice Department is ‘prepared to use all the power that we have’ to push through change in the beleaguered Missouri force, which was castigated nationwide over the killing of Michael Brown.
The threat follows the publication of a report which showed officers swapping racist emails, as well as finding that 93 per cent of all arrests in the town, and most uses of excessive force were directed at the African American population.
President Barack Obama has called the policing in Ferguson ‘broken and racially biased’ which requires a ‘fix’ from the federal government.
The allegations against the Ferguson PD contained in the DOJ report allege officers exchanged “racist emails.” The report also alleges the Ferguson Police Department generates revenue by unfairly targeting blacks during traffic stops, never mind the fact the population of Ferguson is eighty-percent black.
Retribution has been swift. The Ferguson Police Chief, Thomas Jackson, resigned following the Justice Department report.
In a televised statement, Ferguson Mayor James Knowles said that three of the employees who were found to have sent racist emails were put on administrative leave. One of those employees was later terminated and two are awaiting the result of an internal investigation.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated,” Knowles said.
He added, “We must do better. We must all work to address issues of racial disparity in all aspects of society.”
Knowles said Ferguson had already started to hire a more diverse staff and has begun to reform its courts system.
Earlier this month Barack Obama laid out a plan for federalizing and centralizing local police powers, using Ferguson as a backdrop.
The Daily Caller reported:
President Barack Obama today introduced his plan for a progressive takeover of state and local policing.
“We have a great opportunity… to really transform how we think about community law enforcement relations,” he said Monday.
“We need to seize that opportunity… this is something that I’m going to stay very focused on in the months to come,” Obama said, as he touted a new interim report from his Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
Obama also instructed his media allies to help federalize policing, and to sideline the critics of centralized policing rules. “I expect our friends in the media to really focus on what’s in this report and pay attention to it,” he instructed.
Imagine that. Go figure. Never let a good crisis go to waste, huh? And if there is not a “good crisis,” why not manufacture one? And then accuse your political opponents of the very same transgressions you yourself are committing. It’s a classic Marxist-Leninist script. And this sort of agitation is all I see coming from this lawless administration. It’s the strategy of manufactured crisis. It is all designed to bring about a predetermined end–the centralization of ever more federal power into the executive branch, sans Congress.
Oh, and I can anticipate the counter-arguments of the progressive horde–meaning: you can’t blame the DOJ and the administration for the crimes of a few rogue elements engaging in violence against the police. No, I cannot say that Barack Obama and Eric Holder pulled the trigger. But they sure are agitating and escalating the situation big-time. And they know exactly what they are doing and what the end game is.
All we hear these days are cries of racism, racism, racism poring forth like a never-ending torrent from the progressive media, the White House and our radical-left institutions of “higher learning.” While they decry “racism,” they never stop talking about it, even when there is no racism. What we never seem to hear from the aforementioned is any talk of racial harmony, or how we can achieve it. This constant drumbeat of creating tension and chaos where little to none existed before is evil in my mind.
There have been many a wicked ruler who never pulled the trigger, so to speak. But they were more than happy to look the other way as their minions did, as long as it helped to facilitate their own selfish and diabolical ends. We are talking about human lives here. This is not a game. People are dying and being wounded because of all this hate that seemingly never ends. But that is the design. While we are busy tearing at each others’ throats, the powers-that-be simply smirk and exploit the opportunity to accumulate ever more power and authority over the hapless “masses.”
I think it is way past time for those of us who believe in civility and the rule of law—black, white, red, yellow and brown—to stand up and unite and say enough is enough. To purposefully create division where none exists is sheer evil, in my mind. There are no winners in such a scenario, not even the ones who created the mess. They’re just too deluded, perverse and wretched to realize it.
And to whose benefit? That’s the question. Cui bono. Who benefits from all this crisis and chaos? I’ll let the reader draw their own conclusions. But here’s a hint: it’s not the American people.
This atmosphere of division and hate … the constant pitting of one group against the other for a dubious and morally bankrupt cause must stop. Or else I fear the good ole USofA is going to find itself entering a new dark age. The place to start is at the top. Because, like they say, shit flows downhill. And, ladies and gentlemen, we’re drowning in it. And I’m sick and tired of eating shit sandwiches and being told it’s only for my own good. Enough is enough.
Back out quiet …
