Gun Gripes: Lack of Muzzle Discipline [Video]

Alright, people, I know a lot of you are first-time owners of firearms, judging from the unprecedented gun and ammunition sales as of late. I’m a HUGE proponent of the safe-handling of firearms. Please watch this video if you’re new to firearms and their proper handling. I don’t think the four points of gun safety can ever be repeated and stressed enough. It needs to become second nature.

I wrote an article about the subject of gun safety recently, because I see a lot of people who do not practice trigger finger and muzzle discipline religiously. The whole point of the article is to firmly encourage all new gun owners, and those new to CCW, to get with a qualified instructor for training. Do not assume you can watch a few videos or read an article and tell yourself you know enough about handling firearms.  Don’t lie to yourself. Practice and regular training with your firearm is crucial.

The Four Points of Gun Safety

  1. All guns are always loaded!
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy!
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target!
  4. Always be sure of your target!
