This is a good segment by Glenn Beck covering the 19 anti-gun edicts President Obama is attempting to ram through Alinsky-style—pedal-to-the-metal, baby!
Beck brings about a very crucial point, in my opinion: the risks and dangers of allowing the federal government to dictate and determine who is mentally-ill or not, and what measures will be taken if they are deemed mentally-ill. This is a loaded subject; one that must be carefully analyzed and studied outside the influence of party politics. I hardly see how that could even be remotely possible if the federal government is in charge of such matters.
For example, Washington Times reported:
A West Point think tank has issued a paper warning America about “far right” groups such as the “anti-federalist” movement, which supports “civil activism, individual freedoms and self-government.”
Did you read that? The paper, for all intents and purposes, is concluding that our Founders were, in essence, extremists and their beliefs and theories on governance and individual rights pose a serious military threat to the powers-that-be.
Are you kidding me?
Afraid not. There have been earlier, similarly-worded DHS memorandums that have made the rounds as well. So, it is not a stretch to surmise that if the federal government was in the business of determining who is allegedly mentally-ill, they may very well conclude that anyone supporting limited government, individual rights and the like are mentally deranged in some way and should be considered a hostile threat to the state. It’s really mind-blowing stuff, when you think about it. But it gets better:
But its latest study turns inward and paints a broad brush of people it considers “far right.”
It says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government. Extremists in the anti-federalist movement direct most their violence against the federal government and its proxies in law enforcement.”
West Point has a proud and deserved reputation. The temerity of the author(s) to link themselves with such a fine American institution is damn near treasonous, in my mind. But it seems that everything is upside these days. The rather astonishing paper goes on to remove its progressive mask and concludes with this unsubstantiated nonsense (emphasis mine):
“While liberal worldviews are future- or progressive -oriented, conservative perspectives are more past-oriented, and in general, are interested in preserving the status quo.” the report says. “The far right represents a more extreme version of conservatism, as its political vision is usually justified by the aspiration to restore or preserve values and practices that are part of the idealized historical heritage of the nation or ethnic community.”
Remember, the “far-right” is defined by anybody who may subscribe to the beliefs of the Founders and the U.S. Constitution as written. The progressive author(s) wish to demonize such individuals by insinuating they allegedly embrace antiquated and archaic policies of the past—”preserving the status quo.” Additionally, the report speaks of an “idealized historical heritage” which the minions of individualism bitterly cling to. Which I would suspect is a veiled reference to the common leftist refrain that America is an oppressive master, whose history must be swept aside and forgotten. FORWARD! PROGRESS!
What is particularly troubling about this demonetization of private citizens who are ostensibly obeying and complying by the law of the land–the U.S. Constitution–is the all-out effort being conducted by the sock puppets of the left (impostors) to link these so-called “far-right” elements to White Nationalist movements. In effect, saying that Americans who staunchly defend their constitutional rights are stuck in the past and are a bunch of fascist Nazis who are aligning themselves with extremist white nationalist groups.
Oh, this does anger me so, considering my Grandfather flew 39 missions over the Nazi skies of Europe and spent a year in a German Stalag so these maggots can sit around and vilify their own. I can’t speak for him, but I know he would not appreciate that one iota. My Granddad attributed his survival in World War II to the fact that his Bomber Group was run by West Pointers. They are a top-notch outfit, as my Granddad would say. How sad this truly is. I have nothing but contempt and sadness for this betrayal of those who gave so much, only to be spit on. It will not be forgotten or ignored.
I’m semi-fluent in the German language. Maybe that will set off the alarm bells at DHS and for the liberal sock puppets that may be reading this. I can hear ya’ll now, “See, he says he speaks German; he’s a Nazi!” Actually, I learned German because I was required to take 18 credit hours of a foreign language for an undergrad degree in Journalism. I chose German because their alphabet is similar to ours. But I digress.
I always like to remind liberals and their ilk what Nazi stands for in German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. The literal English translation is the National Socialist German Workers Party. Now, liberal et al., you ask yourself in the mirror before you go to bed tonight who has more in common with Nazis, you or me? People like Rosanne Barr, Michael Moore and MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell are proud to proclaim their allegiance to all things socialism and their feigned devotion to the heroic plight of the workers. The Nazis believe deeply in the concept of social justice and used the term verbatim. Of course, social justice for the Nazis meant kill all the Jews and Slavs, then just kill everybody, eventually their own.
Beck also brings up a messy little issue that needs to be preached from the mountain tops—and that has to do with deception.
In case you missed it, today is Gun Appreciation Day. I’m not participating in it. I am 100% absolute pro-Second Amendment. But this is a constitutional issue regarding our inalienable right to defend ourselves, and our loved ones , that is being fomented by the White House and its minions following the troubling Sandy Hook massacre. I mean, Gun Appreciation Day? What? Am I going to write a love letter to my Remington 700 BDL 30.06 bolt-action rifle with Leupold 3x9x40 scope? The degree of tone-deafness as well, regarding a “Gun Appreciation Day” so shortly following a mass shooting that resulted in the deaths of 20 children and seven adults doesn’t sit well with me for several reasons.
Firstly, while researching gun control legislation that has been passed over the past several decades, I noticed a number of search results that linked this data from alleged or de facto White Aryan and White Nationalist movements. I have no idea if these websites are, in reality, bondfide anti-Semetic, white nationalist groups. It doesn’t matter to me if they are; it’s the implication by the left that supposedly people who love liberty are suddenly linked with Nazis is what truly matters.
Secondly, politically this doesn’t play well in the liberal-dominated press and will likely turn off “low-information voters.” Media Matters and Huffington Post are reporting the organizer of Gun Appreciation Day allegedly has ties to a white supremacist group . Of course, this is nothing new with the left. The attempt to link those who disagree with the radical left to racism and fascism is nothing new. And don’t get me wrong, I appreciate my guns as much as anybody else. But if the organizer is, in fact, an ardent white supremacist, then I want nothing to do with it.
The bottomline is vigilance is required for the ever-present deception and trickery that the radical left zealously engages in. The predetermined ends justify the means with this crowd; they are the masters of ridiculous and extreme linkages; they will beat their drum with it until the cows come home; they play for keeps; and they want to provoke conflict. It will truly blow your mind at times. Believe me, or don’t, the lengths to which some of the minions on the radical left will go to manipulate and agitate circumstances and crises to their own end is breathtaking … and evil.
