So, the Tea Party would embrace John Wilkes Booth as “poster child” for the movement?
Executive Producer Erik Jendresen of National Geographic Channel’s upcoming television movie “Killing Lincoln,” said John Wilkes Booth “could be the poster child for the Tea Party.”
“This is not the act of somebody who can easily be dismissed as a psychopath, so that it’s easy to understand, ‘Oh well, he was crazy,’” Jendresen said of Booth at a Television Critics Association winter press tour event on Friday in Pasadena, Calif., as initially reported by The Wrap.
“No. It’s more disturbing to find out who Booth was,” said Jendresen. “This is a man who believed what still probably 20 percent of this country still believes. He could be a poster child for the Tea Party.”
Really? Really? A guy who assassinated a beloved Republican president? A left-wing extremist like John Wilkes Booth? Really??? It never ends with these progressive maggots.
Either the National Geographic producer has completely forgotten the history of the Democrats, or he is more than aware of it … playing the oh-so tiresome progressive-liberal game of always accuse the enemy of the very same crimes they themselves are committing.
I would consider myself loosely affiliated with the Tea Party. What I stand up for is the U.S. Constitution, which is under sustained and vicious assault by the left right now, particularly the First and Second Amendments. Apparently that makes me a “John Wilkes Booth.” It’s interesting how the left has decided to go all-out in demonizing and marginalizing people who defend liberty and the inalienable rights of the individual. Interesting, indeed.
Nope, according to Jendresen, all must be part of the commune; we all must be the same. The goals of the progressive are righteous and divine—wholly perfect in every way, at least as far as the progressive is concerned. Any deviation from the utopian ideals of collectivism, statism, and sameness by any individual or group must be condemned in the harshest of terms. If one does not accept the tenets of Marxian socialist-style progressivism, then one will be labeled a psychopath, nazi, fascist, racist, xenophobe, sexist, homophobe, etc., ad nauseum.
One figure who has had a profound influence on liberal academia and progressive leaders in the U.S. and abroad is Herbert Marcuse.
“The West is guilty of genocidal crimes against every civilization and culture it has encountered. American and Western Civilization are the world’s greatest repositories of racism, sexism, nativism, xenophobia, antisemitism, fascism, and narcissism. American society is oppressive, evil, and undeserving of loyalty.”
You can filter everything liberals and progressives believe about America and its Constitution through the above quote by Marcuse. Progressives, Democrats and liberals rarely deviate from its literal meaning. Interestingly, the quote more accurately describes the the former Soviet Union during the 1960’s than it does the United States. But, then again, the Marxist-Leninist’s favorite political strategy of always accuse the enemy of the very same crimes they themselves are committing is always at play.
In 1932, Herbert Marcuse joined the Frankfurt School and soon became the most important and influential figure for the development of political correctness. It was Marcuse who would finally translate the theories of the Frankfurt school from economic to cultural terms. In the 1960’s, it was Marcuse who provided a substitute for the working class—”the youth.” Marcuse’s theories were more in line with Marxist theoreticians like Antonio Gramsci, as opposed to the more orthodox Marxist-Leninist hope of a “workers’ revolution.”
One of the first tangible products of the Frankfurt School was Critical Theory—a strategy of hate—the hate of Christianity, authority, capitalism, the family, patriarchy, hierarchy, morality, tradition, sexual restraint, loyalty, patriotism, nationalism, heredity–anything from the West is to be blamed and rejected outright. Anyone not accepting this premise is to be considered mentally deranged.
So, it is really no surprise progressive elitists like National Geographic’s Erik Jendresen would accuse the Tea Party of wanting John Wilkes Booth as their “poster child,” since any support for American traditions or values—like religion, authority, capitalism, the family, patriarchy, hierarchy, morality, tradition, sexual restraint, loyalty, patriotism, nationalism, heredity, etc.—is seen as mental illness and extremism by the extremists of the left.
