BREAKING: UN Amb. Susan Rice Officially Withdrawing from Consideration to Be Secretary of State

The New York Times’ Roger Cohen has been “reliably informed” that U.N. Amb. Susan Rice’s bid to become the next Secretary of State is “dead in the water.” That’s not much information to go on, but it certainly seems possible. President Obama called her “extraordinary” and said he couldn’t be prouder of her, but does that mean he’d lift a finger to help her overcome growing opposition?

Her part in pushing the “blame the video” narrative following the attack in Benghazi raised opposition from Sen. John McCain and others, but revelations that she held hundreds of thousands of dollars in Canadian oil investments earned the scorn of environmentalists as well.
