Troubling Questions Arise Following Departure of CIA Director Patraeus

Nobody writes a headline better than Matt Drudge, e.g.:

The timing of the resignation of CIA Director David Patraeus is bringing up some troubling questions. Patreus is leaving the CIA over an extramarital affair that was allegedly known to the FBI for months. Why now?

General David Patraeus and alleged mistress Paula Broadwell.

With Congressional testimony set to begin this week into the Benghazi attack that resulted in the brutal deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other brave Americans, Patreus’ departure is certainly raising a few eyebrows.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) stated recently that the Congressional Oversight Committee headed up by Rep. Darrell Issa would “hate to have to subpoena a four-star general,” but intimated that they might do just that.

The White House is attempting to keep the hearings closed—more than likely, they will cite “national security concerns.” But with the number of leaks the administration has been accused of, this would provide the Obama Administration the ability to control the narrative if the hearings are not kept open to the public.

There have been other “casualties” from the Benghazi affair that raise disturbing questions as well, such as the removal of General Carter Ham from AFRICOM Command. Allen West recently wrote:

General Carter F. Ham

“I knew General Carter Ham from my active duty service in the Army and have interacted with him as a member of the House Armed Services Committee. General Ham possesses an impeccable reputation built upon an exceptional character, integrity beyond reproach, and a keen warrior ethos. It is absolutely astonishing to me that all of a sudden General Ham was removed from AFRICOM Command and is now retiring. There is something horribly amiss here and Americans should demand an explanation from the Commander-in-Chief as to why a major Combatant Commander has been removed from command early and is now retiring. If President Obama is not forthcoming with a complete explanation on this matter, the Benghazi terrorist attack incident, and why Major Nidal Hasan’s actions are classified as workplace violence…on November 6, 2012 the American people should relieve President Obama of HIS command and retire him to Chicago, Hawaii, or wherever.”

The Benghazi attack demands answers. It appears the administration is involved in a coverup. Unlike Watergate, this coverup cost American lives.
