CNN’s news network founder, Ted Turner, appeared as a guest on Thursday’s Piers Morgan Tonight and complained there was a double-standard concerning nuclear weapons the U.S. and Israel are being allowed to possess, versus nuclear weapons Iran is trying to develop. He suggested all countries dispose of their nuclear arsenal in order to convince Iran not to build such weapons. Piers Morgan asked Turner what he would do about Iran if he were president. Turner absurdly complained Iran was being held to a different standard than Israel. Yet, neither he nor Morgan made mention Iran’s support of terrorism against both Israel and the United States:

Ted Turner on Piers Morgan Tonight – May 3, 2012
PIERS MORGAN: “What would you do about Iran if you were the American President?”
TED TURNER: “Well, first of all, I believe in total nuclear disarmament. That’s the only way we’re ever going to get there. We all got to play by the same set of rules. We have 2,000 or several thousand nuclear weapons. Iran has none at the current time. It’s okay for Israel to have 100, but it’s not okay for Iran to have two. That’s, that’s, you’re not treating everybody equally.
You have no strong position except force. Only by force can it be done. I think we’ve already voted at the U.N. and the Security Council to get rid of nuclear weapons. Let’s get rid of them. Let’s get rid of ours, and then Iran will stop, I believe, and everybody else will because if everybody doesn’t have them, then we’re safe – at least safe from a nuclear attack.
I mean, if we have full-scale nuclear exchange, it’s going to destroy life on Earth, all life. Maybe there will be a few cockroaches left, but that’s all, and I find that crazy. This is such a nice world, and most of the people are really nice here.
But, you know, and if you treat people with dignity, respect, and friendliness like I did with the Russians and the Soviets before them with the Goodwill Games, if you try and make friends, you can make friends and you can do that even with former enemies. Japan bombed us at Pearl Harbor, and now we’re good friends with the Japanese. We fought China in the Cold War, but now we’re good friends with the Chinese, most of us are.”
I find it hard to contain my utter dismay and frustration with the naivety of these comments. Israel has never said that it is devoted to the destruction of any of its neighbors, yet those same neighbors are vehemently devoted to the destruction of Israel. These are the rantings of a fanatical fool. Historical context and the reality of circumstance are utterly ignored here! Force is the only thing that these people understand.
“A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.”
- Winston Churchill
Ted is a blithering idiot … pacifism really sucks, because it is the pacifist who will be the first casualty of violence. If we were to disarm, the immediate result would be our own destruction! Compare the ramblings of this fool-idiot to the common sense and historical deference of the honorable Allen West:

Congressman Allen West – Support for Israel
Ted Turner represents the spinelessness of the Left. They cannot live separately form their ideological mindset. I wish things were different, too, but they are not different. Islam is a theocracy and they have sworn to advance the cause Islam at all cost–to include the killing of non-believers. I do not understand why this is so difficult to accept when it something that the tenants of Islam openly boast. What part of “kill” do they not understand?
“Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation’s fury.”
- Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
